Agile is a popular project management methodology. Within the context of software development, agile delivery prioritises incremental and iterative development amongst collaborative and self-organising teams. The goal of agile development is to create effective software, while retaining the ability to change and respond quickly to user or client requirements.
Due to its iterative nature, agile may allow for new features and changes to be realised more quickly within the software, resulting in a higher quality product in a reduced time frame. The continually developing nature of agile software allows for new builds to be regularly released, as opposed to non-agile projects which often rely on larger more infrequent changes or product builds. The iterative style of development also lends itself to cost and risk management, allowing these factors to be managed on an ongoing basis, highlighting potential issues at earlier stages.

As a people-centric methodology, the first core value emphasises the significance of people in driving forward the development process.
